Entrepreneurs are too busy worrying about the big things, so why must they sweat on the small stuff. Here is a list that StartupBackpack has put together to suggest some useful items for the entrepreneur in the hustle and bussle of starting and running a successful business.
What should every hard working startup king should have with them at all times:

Extra business cards in a solid sealed case

3 pens – with caps cause you never know if they will leak, and nothing says slob more than an ink stained shirt.

Notebook – small notebook that can be used to jot down quick notes in meetings and thoughts while on the go. It could be a good suggestions to have separate note and meeting notebooks. Maybe a professional looking one for meeting clients with, and a cheap-o $1.00 one for jotting down your every thought.

Portfolio – a simple black/brown notebook, calculator style travel case.

Demo cds – if you depend on showing your products or services off on your computer think again, what happens if something happens to your trusty laptop and it doesnt feel like working for that special meeting. Also perfect for a leave behind.

Brochures – Have something that speaks wonders when printed? Print some up. Keep with common sizes to keep costs low, and dont chince out. After all, this is the product/service you built, and want to remain successful!

Blackberry/handheld device – for constant communication on the go

Pre-paid starbucks card – gotta have caffeine. Also great when meeting clients at a coffee location. You dont want to be asking your client for change to buy their coffee do you?

Suite jacket – a simple and clean cut suit jacket speaks wonders about how you are viewed. Sure, keep those jeans and t-shirt on if you must, but a jacket will make the world of difference.

Industry stats/ cheat sheets – great for that surprise call from a new or current client when you are out and about.

Contact list – list of contacts that can get them out of a jam

Elevator pitch – 30 seconds max, try and keep it to 10, nobody has the time. And the simpler it is, the higher chance that a person will spread the proper word about your company.

Gum/candy – icky breath is a no no when it comes to face to face meeting time.

Hill II who aggressively founded the Commerce Bank over 34 years ago, and had to leave in order for it to take shape due to cease-and-desist orders with federal banking regulators.

Vernon upped the anti in his business plans, by rapidly opening up Burger Kings, to creating a banking empire that saw the creation of extremely large branches while other companies were scaling back. Then there is the talk of his 46,000 square foot home that was created after the demolition of a historic property that caused his neighbors to establish a preservation society.

Take it for what it is, and keep Karma in mind.

If you find that you tend to waste quite a bit of time during your work day catching up on the latest celebrity gossip, or randomly surfing the internet, maybe corporate life just isn’t for you.

There is a growing percentage of American’s that have frequently felt bored and underpaid at their place of employment, causing them to waste close to 20% of their workdays. An online study found that six in every ten workers have admitted to wasting time at work that amounts to 1.7 hours of a typical 8.5 hour work day.

So the question is, why bother working for a company when you are this bored? Sure the perks and benefits might not get beat if you work for yourself and start your own venture, but only time will tell, and they usually amount to much higher rewards. The slaking rates have gone down about 30 minutes since the survey was initiated in 2005, but nonetheless, if you’re that bored, may we suggest to start strategizing an exit plan that has to do with starting your own business.

It’s always great to hear about a successful entrepreneur. But what about when they luck out a few times with a highly successful product?

Well that’s just what Marc Andressen has done. First Marc co-founded Netscape Communications, and basically started the commercialization of the Internet. Marc then jumped in with the AOL team as CTO when they bought Netscape out in the heat of the dotcom heydays of 1999. Since leaving AOL, Marc and his team of Executives have been working on Opsware, a public company whose software technology supports customer systems via an automated server life cycle management.

HP has agreed to buy Opsware for more than $1.6 Billion.

As a member of Time’s Top 50 people under the age of 40 in 1994, Andressen’s ideas have enabled people to venture onto the internet, and lead businesses to the incredible amounts of advantages the internet can give them.

Keep your eyes on Marc, he’s is definitely another entrepreneur who’s ideas and work turn to gold.
